Founding member, Sarah Wagnall is an outstanding
writer who is passionate about the power and value
of good communications. She spent 10 years leading
change and delivery-focused internal communications
in Royal Mail, one of the biggest employers in the
UK and 20 years in the wider PR and corporate
communications environment.
She
works with a tight network of ex-colleagues and
associates she’s met along the way; people who have
an impressive range of skills and experience,
including people and organisational development,
employee engagement, internal communications
channels delivery and journalism. |

Royal Mail Letters |

As a Director in Royal Mail Letters, Sarah Wagnall
created an involvement and communications strategy
in support of the business and cultural change
objectives of the company. With 160,000 postmen and
women, as well as sales, marketing, customer service
and all the usual corporate functions it is one of
the largest employers in the UK.
She sold the power of communications to the
operational line; securing a seat on the operational
executive team and making sure that there was buy-in
to communications from the very top.
Other
work included:

Centralising the involvement & communications
activity - bringing together people from 19
business units into one, integrated, joined-up
team. Reducing the headcount from 160 to 86 in
year one and down to 40 over three years and
saving £4.5 million in staff and associated
costs and £5 million in operating costs

Developing ed a more focused suite of channels
and interactive tools – including publications,
e-zines, talkabout packs and maps and the
intranet.

Home Office |

Working as a communications consultant, we created a
new communications strategy for Home Office
headquarters to ensure that the internal
communications activity was helping to support the
department’s overarching strategy and goals.
Work
included

Building a new internal account management team
with a clear focus on helping to deliver a
joined-up narrative for the department.

Setting the agenda for the leadership and
engagement communications for Senior Civil
Servants and their top teams – ensuring that the
communications and events for these groups were
integrated and consistent in their messaging.

Coming from an external relations background, Sarah
Wagnall previously managed the PR and media activity
at Mercury Communications.
Work
included

Media management on corporate issues such as
regulation, redundancies and outsourcing.

marketing copy, articles and features.
